Recently, 17 representatives from the DSAT and the Transportation Advisory Committee visited the Transmac Ilha Verde Depot, and inspect the hybrid buses and exchanged information on the current traffic situation in Macau.

The delegation was received by Li Qijian, the deputy general manager, and other management team members. The staff first introduced the maintenance facilities in the depot, and carefully explained the structure of the hybrid electric bus and the performance of each component, so that the participants can better understand their operational principles and effectiveness in environmental protection; afterwards, the staff demonstrated the safety monitoring system of the new Transmac bus. This system can immediately grasp the status of the vehicle for timely bus deployment. The system is also equipped with an alert function to remind the captain to pay attention on driving and road conditions which improve the safety of bus travel. Afterwards, they visited the customer service center to understand the daily operations and functions of the relevant departments.

After a series of visits, the two sides exchanged views on the current development of public transportation in Macau. First, Transmac introduced the company’s operation and management, and compared and analyzed the current situation of Macau’s transportation and its neighboring areas, and then explained the future of Transmac. Following that, Transmac stated to implement the “transit priority” policy, in line with the concept of smart transportation construction, use technology investment to take advantage of public transport, and create a “smart travel, bus priority” travel environment. The DSAT and TAC representatives also proposed improvement suggestion to the local bus service. The two sides shared their views with each other. It is believed that the discussions will help to continuously improve the service level of local buses and enhance the public bus experience.
